SHALYA TANTRA
INTRODUCTION:
Shalya Tantra is an ancient & essential branch of Ayurveda dealing with surgical methods and techniques. This branch focuses on surgery and the management of traumatic conditions. It is one of the eight branches of Ayurveda and includes various surgical techniques, procedures and treatments for injuries, wounds, fractures and other surgical conditions. At Bhagwant Ayurvedic Collage and Bhagwant Hospital, Muzaffarnagar, U.P., curriculum includes understanding the fundamental concepts of Shalya Tantra, including the historical evolution of surgical practices, detailed study of human anatomy and physiology, crucial for performing surgical procedures and understanding bodily functions. Also, we facilitate hands-on training in various surgical procedures, from minor operations to complex surgeries. This includes learning about different types of surgical instruments and their uses—techniques for treating wounds, including cleaning, dressing, and managing post-surgical care.
