KRIYA SHARIR
INTRODUCTION:
Kriya Sharir (Ayurveda Physiology) is a key subject in the study of medical sciences, providing foundational knowledge of the functional aspects of the human body, mind, and senses. It covers both normal and abnormal functions of Dosha, Dhatu, and Mala, which are essential for understanding disease processes and developing insights into disease management and prevention. Physiology is central to medical wisdom, significantly contributing to the advancement of medical technology and clinical management. At Bhagwant Ayurveda College and Bhagwant Hospital, the Kriya Sharir department focuses on the basic concepts, knowledge, and application of Tridosha (the three functional entities: Vata, Pitta, and Kapha), Sapta Dhatus (tissues), Malas (excretory waste), Prakriti (genetics), Manas (mind, cognition, memory), Nidra (sleep physiology), and Ojas (immunity physiology). The etiopathogenesis of disease cannot be fully understood without assessing Dosha, Dhatu, and Mala both subjectively and objectively. Therefore, this subject serves as a crucial foundation for understanding Ayurveda and is vital for medical students in mastering all other pre-clinical, para-clinical, and clinical subjects.
